Challenging West London senior game

October 15, 2018

West London away: lost 24-2

A very damp match for seniors away at Wormwood Scrubs playing West London. It absolutely pelted down in the second and third quarters so no action photos worth showing.

The opposition had their Premier team goalie playing which was tough for our Div 2 attackers.

Lauren scored the first goal of the game and Emma M scored in the third quarter, but despite many determined attempts we could not get more goals past someone with clearly more experience at a higher level regardless of whether we aimed high or low.

Defence worked hard in the driving rain and, although there were several great saves, could not stop the W London attack from scoring. Final score was 24-2.

Our MVP was Lauren, plus special mention made of our goalie, Olivia.

It was good to see the big improvement in the younger players, Ellie G has only been back playing a couple of weeks but really excelled in the second half, showing real grit, great reactions and persistence in defence.

Well done everyone, it was a difficult game that demanded a lot of effort. Thanks also to Ben for umpiring at short notice and all the supporters who braved the elements.
