Match reports for their first two games...

23 Oct: away to Blues2    22-10

What an exciting game, but dreadful weather! Despite the driving rain and strong wind challenging spectators' umbrellas the Dragonflies' seniors worked hard in their first match of the season against The Blues. The first goal of the game came early from Blues, but Tia answered quickly with our first goal. The first half saw us matching most of their goals, and Olivia made some great saves in difficult conditions. However, Blues got the edge on us early in the second half and we just could not catch them up. We had several attempts at goal that just could not get through and the match ended with a Blues win 22-10. Scorers were Tia, Lucy, Amy Emily, Lauren, Emma M. Joining our team this season, so their first outing with us were Ricki and Elaine. Well done to them and to our great defence and midfield too, you did a sterling job, despite lots of slipping and sliding on the wet ground. EmmaM and Olivia were our MVPs.

30 Sept: away to CLondon3    3-21

Wow, what a team! The extra training has paid off and this was demonstrated by the great teamwork shown in our match in Regents Park. A total of 21 goals to beat Central London 3-21, and many assists, lots of midfield support and where needed some strong defence with good communication.
Scorers were Amy (3), Clarissa (4), Emma L (2), Lauren (2), Ricki (3), Sadie, Lucy (2) and Emily (4).
Defenders, Sadie, Emma L and Sophie worked well with goalie Olivia, and it was good to see Elin, Kendra and Tabby growing into their roles within the Senior team, showing great promise. Lucy was named MVP.
Thanks to all the supporters and, of course, our umpire Jo Simon.
