Juniors: an exciting season ahead!
Update for u15 team and Development squad (aka u13 and u12) We are doing things a little differently this coming season.
We are entering our u15 team into the SEWLA league again (and we are awaiting the fixtures list now). They will be coached by Jo, and by David Mc when the Seniors are playing away matches. See below for some pre-season dates.
For the u13 and younger players we have decided that a year away from the league, building skills and developing a love for the game, would be helpful. We will look at organising friendlies and mini-tournaments with other clubs too. We are calling this the development squad, and we will split players by experience and skill, rather than simply by age. So u15 newbies could find their feet here too!
To support this, we have a new coach joining us: Ali Earnshaw-Punnett. Ali has a great track-record as a coach, having established the Coyotes club in Sevenoaks and taught at Wally Hall, St Catherine’s and now St George’s, Ascot, as well as coaching for the Wales u19 Academy. She will be supported by Emma Longstaff and others from the Senior team.
If anyone is wanting to ‘up their game’ over the summer, there are a few summer camps nearby, including these:
And, for those that are eligible, you can apply directly for the Scottish (JuniorWomensManager@LacrosseScotland.com) and Welsh (firstname.lastname@example.org) Junior Academies. And do let us know if you go along!
