Seniors suffer first half Blues

January 14, 2018

The Senior team had a tough match this morning against the Blues in Banstead.

After a first goal of the match from Lauren, Blues played the first half fast and furiously, and despite a great goal from Tia we simply could not get the ball back to attack for long and our several attempts at goal were stopped by their goalie.

For the first half we had to play uphill to score which was tough and the ground very sticky. This definitely helped the opposition, something to remember if we play there again!

The second half was much better for Dragonflies, we regrouped and maintained greater strength in our defence with our players working well together to keep the strongest Blues attackers away, and this half saw both teams drawing with 5 goals each in the 30 mins.

Our goals from a more assertive attack team were from Lucy (3), Amy and another from Tia. Unfortunately we could not catch their earlier score and Blues won 18-7.

Lauren was MVP. Special mention to some of our younger players, Amy, Lucy and Tia, who all kept running fast despite the muddy ground!
